Kathy O'Guinn

Kathy is a

Kathy loves
the Lord and His children. She feels that the church should be present in
each child's life and should serve to assist the parents in "training
up a child in the way he/she should go".
Purpose
- Parent's Day
Out is a ministry of Highland Baptist Church designed to provide:
-
Children
an opportunity to learn varied skills, discover their abilities and
talents, exercise creativity and initiative, develop independence and
positive self-worth, and develop character – all in a Christ-honored
setting
- Support the
family and provide parents with quality care for their children during the
crucial years of child rearing.

To contact the
child’s own physician
When the
child’s parent cannot be contacted, the Director will contact the
child’s physician an act according to instructions. Each parent should
designate where they will be each day on the pad that is located outside the
classroom.
Please
bring disposable diapers and plastic bottles
Label
diaper bags, individual bottle and lids, lunches and all containers,
blankets, coats and anything else your child may bring for the day with a
permanent marker.
We
suggest a child not bring a personal toy from home, except for naptime.
A lunch

served with little assistance (ages 12 months and up)
Please
leave and pick up your child at the door. Do not go into the room unless
necessary.
Please
bring a blanket or mat for naptime. Beds will be assigned to babies.

When
you drop your child off, please be sure to sign them in on the clipboard. If
someone other than yourself will be picking your child up, please make a
note on the sign-in sheet. Only those people on your authorization slip may
pick-up your child. Their driver’s license will be checked.
Please
dress your child in appropriate clothing for play. Label clothing and
jackets. It is helpful to bring a change of clothing for younger children.

Curriculum
The
entire staff at Highland’s Mother’s Day Out is dedicated to providing
a positive learning experience for preschoolers. We want to meet the
spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and social needs of each child in
a warm and loving environment.
And
Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor
with God and man.
Luke 3:52
We
believe in the whole-child approach to learning. We have a well-planned
curriculum, which provides various topics and emphasized themes. The
classrooms are arranged in learning centers which include Home living,
Blocks, Puzzles, Books, Nature, Music, and Art.
Children
are able to make choices and participate in small group activities. The
daily schedule includes both vigorous and quiet indoor activities. Outside
play is also included when weather permits.
Bible
stories and learning of Bible thoughts are taught daily in each class.
