Welcome

It is my privilege to extend to you a cordial welcome to Highland Baptist Church, Lubbock, and West Texas. The joy of the Lord is contagious and can be found anywhere, but no part of the world is more friendly than West Texas, and that friendly spirit is reflected by the people who are Highland Baptist Church.

Highland Baptist Church is a composite family of God, serving Christ in the heritage of Baptist understanding of the Scriptures. The people of Highland provide and participate in the ministries of the church, unite and share in corporate worship, gather and engage in Bible study and fellowship, and agree upon and implement God’s purpose for His church. They represent all ages and come from various walks of life and backgrounds, but come together unified by mutual commitment to Jesus Christ.

Our ministries, outlined elsewhere in these pages, are designed to meet the needs of families as well as individuals. From Bible study to fellowship, from physical activity to creative crafts, from witnessing for Christ to assisting the lonely and forgotten, Highland is "about the Father’s business." Special ministries address the needs of adults, senior adults, students, children and pre-school children, women, parents and grandparents. Our heart is a heart for God, and our example is Jesus, our Savior and Lord.
